McFly! Get Me Some New Shoes!

Cinemablend tipped me off to something AWESOME. Look at what Nike's working on:

Dude! Self lacing Nikes! There better be some hoverboards in the works too!

Admit it, you want them.

Radtacular Fatherlicious Goods: Your Basic Father's Day Gift Guide

Gentle readers, your Dads called, and they want something else for Father's Day. Yes. Yes I spoke to all your Dads, every last one of them, and yes, they all endorse the roundup of really sweet items that I'm about to show to you. In fact, they clamored --unanimously-- for me to write this piece for that purpose.

Any Father that tells you I'm lying just doesn't want to hurt your feelings, because he really did despise the last nine ties you purchased for him (I'm very sorry to have to be the one to break that news to you). However, every last one of us Culture Brats want you to succeed, so help is here and that help is me. Let's get on with it, shall we?

Star Wars Mosaic Shower designed by Emily Jagoda

What your Dad wants in his heart of all hearts is a shower tiled with Star Wars characters and a hibachi on the back of the toilet and three hours of peace and quiet with which to enjoy them.

He knows, though, that this is cost prohibitive and also pretty improbable, so he would be utterly stoked to accept any of the following:

1)

Apollo cockpit tie by Cyberoptix TieLab

Let's start with basics, so as not to throw you too far off your game. Yes, it's a necktie, but it is a way more boss tie than your Father has ever owned before: It's 100% silk and screen printed with a very detailed diagram of the Apollo cockpit lifted straight from the Apollo operations handbook.

The Wii We Will All Want

So Nintendo debuted their new system, the Wii U, yesterday at E3. It looks spectacular!

CANNOT WAIT UNTIL 2012!

Here's a video of the unveiling:

They Don't Even Need To Be Comfortable

Sometimes simply playing video games isn't enough.

Sometimes you need your video games to function as furniture, too.

Jazz Up Your Cellphone

At some point in a phone upgrade, I lost a custom ringtone that I'd made to alert me that my mom was calling. It was the cackle and theme for the Wcked Witch of the West. I know, I know, mean. But she thought it was hilarious. Anyway, like I said, I somehow lost it. I've been looking for new ringtones to change it up a little and ran into something via @ThinkGeek's Twitter feed - 8-bit ringtones of '80s theme songs.

My first pick?

I love the singer's hair.

Let the downloading commence!

Dear Nintendo, GIMME

Nintendo is partnering with classic shoe company Converse to make these special edition Chuck Taylor All-Stars.

The catch? Right now they're going to release them only in Japan. BOO. If anyone wants to send me a pair of American women's size 6 shoes, I'll totally love you forever.

Zelda shoes with link on green canvas would also be cool. (HINT HINT NINTENDO.)

Like Easter Baskets For Your Feet

This isn't terribly rock and roll, it's definitely not indie, and I don't even think it's going to have the potential for some scandalous celebrity mishap but I cannot help but want these! It's the D&G Spring/Summer 2011 line of floral fabulous shoes. Perhaps I've just got buds, rabbits, and everything spring fluffy on the brain but there is just something about kicking away the rain clouds in flower power wedges that makes my heart go a-flutter. Sue me.

Red? Floral? Wedges? WANT!

Calling All TMBG Fans

If you don't know what TMBG is then you're probably not a fan. Anyway, I've been shopping for household goods because we just moved and I ran across this gem.

Blue canary in the outlet by the lightswitch, who watches over me...

I now own one. I love it! Little birdie's going to help me from killing myself in my dark, long bedroom with a step. Because he's my only friend.

Cuddle Up With A Serial Killer

Wish I knew about these little plush fellows a few weeks back. They would've made the perfect Valentine's Day gift!

Pining For A One-Eyed Brit

He had a sexy accent, a steely, determined gaze, and he saved the day in his zippy car, of course I'm talking about... Danger Mouse! (The rodent not the DJ.) It's funny the things that get you through college, but those diminutive secret agents cheered me on many a day. If you don't know about Danger Mouse, he and his hamster sidekick, Penfold, were some of the coolest spies to ever grace the animated screen, airing from 1981 - 1992 (UK), and launching here in the US in 1984. They also had the best theme song EVER!

Sadly, merchandise celebrating Danger Mouse and company are hard to come by in the States so when I stumbled across these coffee mugs from a UK website I just knew I had to have some eye-patched heroes with my morning tea.

I wonder how much shipping will run? Crumbs, DM!
