Selling a million copies in today's market is like selling 2 million back then. The music industry sells less than half as many CDs now as it did back in 2000.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05810156368520745972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8350642370729096785.post-56858894918631151962011-06-02T01:27:31.227-04:002011-06-02T01:27:31.227-04:00Now children...Now children...the weirdgirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17488089778646205633noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8350642370729096785.post-18540724317296402682011-06-02T00:26:13.559-04:002011-06-02T00:26:13.559-04:00I hear you, but I think it's MORE impressive t...I hear you, but I think it's MORE impressive that a bunch of 12 year old girls stood in line with their hard earned allowance money to pay $15 (or whatever) for, like, half that list.

Amazon practically giving it away to any lazy ass with a computer is less impressive to me. The Backstreet Boys did it without steroids. They lost money just to get people on their stupid cloud. Gaga had nothing to do with it.

PLUS... there's also the fact that Best Buy gave away FOR FREE a copy of the CD to anyone who bought a cell phone and signed a two-year agreement during the entire first week. None of those were counted towards her sales at all. So even more people own Born This Way than people realize.

And yes... I am becoming a Gaga apologist. And the Backstreet album was a joke gift from a friend.

Incidentally, Gaga cheated. There needs to be a big asterisk with *SOLD FOR $1 on Amazon next to it.archphoenixhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06104763173310754546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8350642370729096785.post-52187961336316634712011-06-01T11:59:27.997-04:002011-06-01T11:59:27.997-04:00Wow - I own none of them...I have to admit I am no...Wow - I own none of them...I have to admit I am not sad at all about that!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
