Free Download: Snatches Of Pink

Snatches Of Pink were Chapel Hill's only true rock stars. While Chapel Hill may have produced bigger bands, no one embodied rock 'n' roll like Snatches Of Pink. Yesterday, I discovered that SOP front man Michael Rank had started a new band (Michael Rank And Stag) and to celebrate had posted most of Snatches Of Pink's back catalog on Bandcamp. For free.

So get ready to rock on the cheap.

Send In The Clowns

I hadn't listened to the band's first album, Send In The Clowns, for years. Why? It was only released on tape and vinyl and my tape had long since warped. So I've been listening to this pretty much all night long.
Favorite tracks: "Time Done Gone," "Cowboys And Injuns," and "Clementine."

Snatches Of Pink, "Sleeping Dogs"

Everyone has that one band.

That one band that never quite made it, even though they should have. That one band you tell everyone you know about.

For me, that band was Snatches Of Pink.

Luckily, I'm from their old stomping grounds, so I got to see the band quite often in the late '80s. They should've been H-U-G-E. Instead, they got some critical acclaim, but little attention from radio and people outside of Orange County.

From 1989's Dead Men, here's "Sleeping Dogs."

Enjoy!

And because I'm feeling extremely nostalgic today, from 1987's Send In The Clowns, here's "Clementine." Enjoy!
