Funky Fresh In Lisa Frank

The website The Mary Sue tipped me off to my new favorite thing: Funky Fresh In Lisa Frank, celebs wearing (Photoshopped) Lisa Frank shirts.

A couple of my faves:

and

Yeah, that's right, Iron Man and Thor wearing rainbow sparkle ponies. The full tumblr doesn't have tons yet, but I hope the mad genius behind these keeps on trucking.

BargainBinBlasphemy: Proof That Rock N' Roll Really Is The Devil's Music

There's a cool new Tumblr out there called BargainBinBlasphemy. BargainBinBlasphemy takes old album covers and gives them Satanic makeovers. Here are a few glorious examples!

Wham, Make It Big

The Olympics And Mars Curiosity: Inspiring A Country And Inspiring New Memes

Nothing brings a country together more than cheering for our nation's best homeschooled, privately-coached athletes. One athlete, gymnast McKayla Maroney, has caught the hearts of people everywhere, not for her spirit and love of the game, but for her ability to make faces that would make her right at home with Regina George and The Plastics. Thankfully, we have the tumblr McKayla Is Not Impressed.

Reminding the rest of the world that America is #1!!!!, NASA successfully landed the Mars Curiosity, and among the room of celebrating scientists and engineers, young MIT grad Bobak Ferdowsi caught the eye of the nation, not only because of his rad Mohawk, but because his youth and charisma is not what you think of when you think of NASA scientists. Public figures like him are the reason that tumblr exists, and of course there is already a tumblr dedicated to him.

Ah, I love the internet.

Downton Abbey Is Now A Thing

I can remember a time when I was the only teenager who watched costume dramas with my mother on PBS (spoiler alert: it was a lonely time). Now Downton Abbey fever has swept the nation, and the cool kids are co-opting the genre, much like J.J. Abrams did for sci-fi.

Don't get me wrong, the show is fantastic. It's basically a melodrama, but the costumes are great so it heightens the quality. Think Melrose Place during World War One. The thing is, everyone watching it knows it's good, but somehow people, especially some men, can't believe they like it so they have to assert a bit of irony in watching it. You know what that means- bring on the internet satire!

The tumblr Dowton Abbeyonce cleverly pairs scenes with Beyonce lyrics, which actually fit quite well.
