Coolest USB Drive Ever?

I am a little obsessed by USB computer accessories because they come in all kinds of crazy shapes, most totally useless. Do I have a purple USB lava lamp for my computer? Yes I do. So I've seen a lot of random and cool USB drives, but today I think I've found the coolest of them all.

Introducing the Voltron 2 GB USB drive:

Here are the specs:
  • Perhaps the coolest USB drive ever made: Voltron!
  • Articulated head and arms.
  • Chest lights up with data transfer.
  • Includes: Blazing Sword!
  • Blazing Sword can be held in hands AND feet!
  • Comes preloaded with a full episode of the classic Voltron cartoon - remastered, for your protection.
  • Dimensions: 3.5" tall.
At $36.99, is it insanely overpriced for a 2 GB drive? Yes. Do I still want it? HELL YES. I think maybe I need a Leap Day gift. Form blazing sword!

First Look: New Voltron

So MTV News tipped me off to something big - first look images of the new Voltron! Please gods of entertainment, don't let this be as disappointing as the new Wonder Woman outfit. Ok here we go:

Ok, my first thought: SASSY! And I'm not sure I want my Voltron lions to be sassy, like some kind of Sex and the City girl. I mean, I know it's the Princess's lion and all (yes, I know this without checking, SHUT UP) but really? Hm. MTV has a few more images, as does the official Voltron Facebook page. I don't hate it as much as Wonder Woman's blue pants, and some of the other renderings look kinda good. What do we think, Brats?

Form Feet And Legs!

When I was growing up I was a huge Voltron fan. More than any other cartoon, I was obsessed with Voltron. I'd leave outside playtime to come in and watch the new episode. So today's news made me squeal like a little girl.
WEP, a top animated television production company, and its representative, Classic Media – a global media company with a portfolio of some of the world's leading entertainment brands – will work with THQ to produce video games based on the Voltron franchise.

The video games from THQ, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software, will join a previously announced toy line produced under a separate agreement between WEP and Mattel, which plans to release toy lines based on classic Voltron in 2011 and new Voltron Force in 2012.

The Voltron video games from THQ are anticipated to debut this fall, following the premiere of the all-new 2D/CGI animated Voltron Force series, which is set to launch in the U.S. on Nicktoons, and with other key broadcasters worldwide, in 2011.
Video games and a new TV series?! I'm so in for this. There had been rumors floating around for quite a while that Voltron was going to come to the big screen. But the rumors I'd read about the script being shopped around didn't make me terribly happy as they were going to bring Voltron to Earth and it was going to be all current day and stuff like the Michael Bay Transformers films. This sounds more like classic Voltron.

All my Voltron fans - represent! Who else got a little giddy about this news?
