Seven Questions In Heaven With Conway

I fell in love with Conway's "Big Talk" when we featured it as our Song Of The Day in September. Today, she's nice enough to spend Seven Questions In Heaven with us.

Describe your music for our readers who may not be familiar with you.
Rhythm section motivated and melody driven. I pull from rock, r&b, hip hop, and a necessity to move. Also, I am a hook junkie. Does that make sense? Probably not. Ha!

Who are your musical influences and idols?
Kim Deal, Joy Division, Karen O, Kate Bush, David Byrne, Buju Banton, Nick Cave, Pinback... I could go on forever.

What was the first album, cassette, or CD you bought with your own money?
Talking heads, Little Creatures. My mom took me to get it because I heard her listening to them.

What was the strangest gig you've ever played?
Probably the one recently at Los Globos. I thought I was having a lucid panic dream as everything with the stage/sound fell apart/exploded in front of a deeply rolling music industry crowd. I looked down and saw two interpretive dancers dressed like circus performers fucking going for it like Dance Party USA. At that moment I was like "Fuck it" and just climbed the speakers and started singing to them.

It ended up saving me because I realized I could actually hear from up there. Then they offered to be my dancers. Holy shit.

What is your current favorite guilty pleasure?
SpaghettiOs. So good and not good, but really good. I am secretly a 5 year old.

If they named an ice cream flavor after you, what would be the name and why?
It would be called "Surprise" and it would always be different because I can never commit to one flavor when ordering ANYTHING!

Final question: You're the opening act of a music festival. You can get any five artists, living or dead, to perform on the bill with you. Which five do you choose and what song do you all perform as the final jam?
Black Francis, David Byrne, James Blake, Cyndi Lauper, TuPac. We perform "This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)" by The Talking Heads.
