Seven Questions In Heaven With Charlotte Sometimes

Charlotte Sometimes will be releasing a new EP, By Request, in 2014. Today, she's spending Seven Questions In Heaven with us.

Describe your music for our readers who may not be familiar with you.
My music has evolved into a lot of subgenres over the years, but it will always be under the influence of pop. "Meathead's artsy chick."

Who are your musical influences and idols?
Fiona Apple, John Hiatt, Tegan and Sara, Deathcab For Cutie, and Roy Orbison.

What was the first album, cassette, or CD you bought with your own money?
Hmm... I think it was a Jewel CD. Or perhaps Hanson. Haha.

What was the strangest gig you've ever played? What's the first thing you look for when you hit a new town?
Oh gosh... Probably this balloon festival in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania when I was 16. I played after The Lumber Jills. It was a strange one.

What is your current favorite guilty pleasure?
I probably listen to T.Swift more than I care to share. Also, reading trashy magazines. SO GUILTY.

If they named an ice cream flavor after you, what would be the name and why?
Hmm... CRAZAY town? Hahaha. Hot mess express? You know, cuz I am nuts.

Final question: You're the opening act of a music festival. You can get any five artists, living or dead, to perform on the bill with you. Which five do you choose and what song do you all perform as the final jam?
Melanie Safka, Roy Orbison, John Hiatt, Lisa Loeb, and Ben Gibbard. We would sing "Have A Little Faith In Me" because it's just simply beautiful.
