Seven Questions In Heaven With The Franklys

Today we're spending Seven Questions In Heaven with The Franklys' drummer Nicole Pinto.

Describe your music for our readers who may not be familiar with you.
Heya, our music is melodic and punchy, and will get you up off your feet and take you on a trip.

Who are your musical influences and idols?
That's a really hard one. My influences come from garage, psych, grunge, shoegaze & Brit pop. I don't have any idols, that's overrated.

What was the first album, cassette, or CD you bought with your own money?
Elvis, "All Shook Up." I was obsessed with Elvis as a child. I would shake the chandelier from upstairs in my bedroom dancing so hard.

What was the strangest gig you've ever played?
I played in a night club in NYC and I had to sing to my song on a catwalk. I had a few drinks before that one to get into the mood and not hide behind my instrument at the time, bass. Or the time I played in Japan in a restaurant night club. We got paid in seafood. It was spectacular!

What's the first thing you look for when you hit a new town?
Antique markets. Gotta love the hidden treasures you can find. Germany have some of the best, alongside Moscow.

What is your current favorite guilty pleasure?
I don't really have one, but I love to wear Katy Perry Oh My! double false eyelashes. I hide the box, ha!

Final question: You're the opening act of a music festival. You can get any five artists, living or dead, to perform on the bill with you. Which five do you choose and what song do you all perform as the final jam?
That would have to be Keith Moon, Syd Barett, Jimi Hendrix, P.P. Arnold, andJanis Joplin. We would perform "Pictures Of Lily."
