Seven Questions In Heaven With The Fruitful Earth

Today, we're spending Seven Questions In Heaven with The Fruitful Earth's Sarah Blair!

Describe your music for our readers who may not be familiar with you.
The music is piano-based rock, sweet laid-back grooves, full-tilt rock 'n' roll with alternative stuff mixed in.

Who are your musical influences and idols?
Bowie, The Rolling Stones (& their piano players: Nicky Hopkins, Ian Stewart, and Billy Preston), Led Zeppelin, Jack White, Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Dr. John, a good number of classical piano composers, The Faces, The Small Faces, The Kinks, Tumbleweed Connection (Elton John), Steve Winwood, Ginger Baker (I'm pretty obsessed with drums), Vivienne Westwood, and Caroline Ahearn.

What was the first album, cassette, or CD you bought with your own money?
I bought Bowie's Aladdin Sane on cassette after hearing "Changes" in a school assembly. Aladdin Sane freaked me out.

What was the strangest gig you've ever played?
Has to be a local festival last year. They were building the stage as we arrived due to rain the night before, the MC was pissed and couldn't remember any of the band's names, it rained for 3 hours, and the other bands were so goddamn dark and depressing it was akin to being held in some kind of purgatory.

What is your current favorite guilty pleasure?
Eating any kind of cake/sweets. I'm not supposed to eat any sugar as I'm intolerant to it, but hey I do.

If they named an ice cream flavor after you, what would be the name and why?
Salty & Sweet 'cos I'm a bit of a mix. Don't really do the girly thing and I tend to be a bit earthy (salty).

Final question: You're the opening act of a music festival. You can get any five artists, living or dead, to perform on the bill with you. Which five do you choose and what song do you all perform as the final jam?
Bowie, Jack White, John Paul Jones, Ginger Baker, and Bill Bailey. "Tin Soldier" by The Small Faces.
