Velvet Revolver, "Fall To Pieces"

It took awhile, but eventually the guys from Guns N' Roses decided to rock on without Axl Rose. So they formed Velvet Revolver.

Hindu Love Gods, "Raspberry Beret"

Welcome to Day 3 of Supergroup Week here at Culture Brats. Today's choice isn't so much a supergroup as it is R.E.M. with a different lead singer.

Warren Zevon enlisted the help of R.E.M.'s Bill Berry, Peter Buck, and Mike Mills to record Sentimental Hygiene, his very awesome album from 1987. Apparently, there was some time left in the studio, so the four of them recorded a few cover songs. And that's how Hindu Love Gods came to be.

From 1990, here's "Raspberry Beret" by Hindu Love Gods.

Welcome to Day 2 of our week-long look at supergroups. Today's supergroup is The Backbeat Band, formed solely to record the Beatles songs used in the 1994 film Backbeat.

The Backbeat Band might be alternative music's greatest supergroup of all time. Check out the roster:

Traveling Wilburys, "Handle With Care"

We're going to be featuring supergroups this week on Culture Brats. And what better way than to kick things off with the granddaddy of all supergroups?

The Traveling Wilburys were a curious band. Relatively unknown solo artists Bob Dylan and Roy Orbison teamed with members of obscure bands Electric Light Orchestra, Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers, and The Beatles to form the greatest supergroup the world has ever heard, Traveling Wilburys.
