Lawless: Beach Blanket Bondurant
LINK | Posted by Duffmano on Wednesday, August 29, 2012
Here's why I'm interested in a movie where Sam Witwicky, Comissioner Gordon, Peter Weyland, and Bane (sporting a weathered-looking Mr. Rogers cardigan) brew hooch and perpetrate violence: they wear hats, have warm southern drawls, and cause a rip in the fabric of the universe resulting from too much method acting in a small space.
So what say you? Will you make time to watch a dark, gritty prohibition period piece about Virginia moonshiners starring Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce, Gary Oldman, and Jessica Chastain? Or will you be spending your money elsewhere?

Do Nirvana And The Strokes Owe It To R.E.M.?
LINK | Posted by Chris on Wednesday, November 16, 2011
Former R.E.M. bassist Mike Millis had the following to say when asked by Scotland On Sunday if R.E.M.'s impact has been as widespread as the Beatles: "We maybe changed US rock, over time – we forced mainstream radio stations to open their playlists to music they might otherwise not have been interested in playing. Would Nirvana and the Strokes have happened without us? You can never know."
For this week's Your Say Hump Day, we want to know if you think he's right. Would Nirvana have been nearly as popular without R.E.M. paving the way?

This is (hopefully) the final installment of the American Pie franchise. While I loved the first flick, I don't think I'll be buying a ticket for this one.

Metallica + Lou Reed = Worst Collaboration Ever?
LINK | Posted by Chris on Wednesday, September 28, 2011
Nope. Still sucks.
Lou Reed and Metallica... that just holds so much promise, you know? But the end result is severely lacking.
So for the week's Your Say Hump Day, tell us what you think of "The View" and if you know of any collaborations worse than this one, link 'em up in the comments.

Let's Talk About Lady Gaga's New Video
LINK | Posted by Chris on Wednesday, August 17, 2011
She also kisses herself, which is kind of cool. You just know Kanye's pissed he didn't think of that first.
So what do you think? Personally, "You And I" is my favorite Lady Gaga song. But the video's a little too much.
First Thoughts: Maroon 5 Ft. Christina Aguilera, "Moves Like Jagger"
LINK | Posted by Chris on Wednesday, August 10, 2011
Personally, if we're looking for a video with impersonators, I'm going to go with the Poly Styrene video with all the Michael Jackson impersonators we showed yesterday. And if you want songs that mention Jagger, I'll take Cher Lloyd's "Swagger Jagger."
What do you say?

You Can Now Take A Cruise With Weezer To An Island In The Sun
LINK | Posted by Chris on Wednesday, July 13, 2011
Weezer is doing one of those celebrity cruise things that seem to be popular among a lot of the hair bands I used to follow. Weezer will be performing on the cruise along with Dinosaur Jr., Sebadoh, Gene Ween and Dave Dreiwitz, Wavves, The Antlers, Yuck, Free Energy, Boom Bip, J. Mascis, Lou Barlow, Keepaway, Ozma, The Nervous Wreckords, The Knocks, Sleeper Agent, and Yacht Rock Review. It's like Lollapalooza on a ship!I've always wondered what happens on these things if you're the talent. When you perform a normal concert, you run backstage when it's done or sneak out the back, and you're done. You have no further interaction with the fans. But on a cruise, you're stuck. I mean, you could stay in your cabin when you're not performing, but those things are way too tiny for that. So what do you do? Mingle with the unwashed?
For this week's Your Say Hump Day, we want you to design your own concert cruise. Tell us what bands you'd have play at your gig. And feel free to give it a cool or cheesy name!

The Voice: Who Ya Got?
LINK | Posted by Chris on Wednesday, June 29, 2011
I've been watching and loving The Voice for the past two months. While it's made me long for a weekly Cee Lo Green variety show, I've also loved watching the different contestants along the way.But tonight, it all comes to an end. A winner will be crowned. That person will walk away with $100,00 and a recording contract.
So who do you think it will be?
You can make a case for any of the four contestants:
- Javier Colon probably has the purest voice of anyone in the competition
- Dia Frampton, with her rockstar name and indie queen looks, can make any song hers
- Every time Vicci Martinez hits the stage, you know you're in for a Performance
So for this week's Your Say Hump Day, we want to know who you think will win The Voice. Have your say in the comments!

And The New Lara Croft Is...
LINK | Posted by Chris on Wednesday, March 09, 2011
Yesterday, Hollywood announced they're going ahead iwth a Tomb Raider remake. So far, the only thing that's been announced is that Graham King (The Departed, Our Town) will be the producer. No writer has been attached to the remake.
No director has been attached to the remake.
And most importantly, no actress has been announced to take over for Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft.
So for this week's Your Say Hump Day, we want to know which actress you'd like to see portray Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider remake.
